More than a roof, families need a strong foundation to rebuild a happy home. Love makes a family!  A roof and a strong foundation make a happy home! 

Who do you wish to celebrate on Mother's Day? Yourself? Your mother? Your guardian? Your grandmother? Your aunt? Your girlfriend? Your partner? Your caretaker?

At Pajaro Valley Shelter Services, we celebrate families every day. On Mother's Day, we host a run & walk to raise crucial funds for our self-sufficiency programs. More than a roof, PVSS provides a strong foundation for families to rebuild a happy home. 

Join us on Mother's Day to outrun and outwalk family homelessness.

Here's how funds raised translate into action at PVSS:

$100 = 4 one-hour meetings with a case manager for families

$50 = 1 hour of counseling for domestic violence for a single mom

$25 = 1 night of emergency shelter for a single mom & her child

$15 = 1 day of nutritious food for a family of 4

The 36th Annual Mother’s Day Run for Shelter brings together 700 runners, 100 businesses, and the City of Watsonville in support of Pajaro Valley Shelter Services.

Event details and schedule

REGISTRATION

Race day registration and bib pick-up will start at 7:00 am on Sunday, May 10th, 2020.

Bibs are non-transferable.

Registration fees are non-transferable & non-refundable.

A Registration Form is required for EACH participant.

PRICING

• 10K Run & 5K Run/Walk – $30 per individual (1 T-shirt included with registration) until 3/15; $40 until 5/3, $50 from 5/4 - 5/10
• 1K Kid’s Fun Run – $20 per child (1 T-shirt included with registration) until 5/3; $25 from 5/4 to 5/10

RACE START TIMES

• 1K Kids' Fun Run @ 7:45am
• 5K Run/Walk @ 8:00am
• 10K Run @ 8:45am

COURSE

COURSE CLOSES AT 10:15 am.

The course is timed: computerized time results will be announced on the day of the event & on our website www.pvshelter.org.

All runs and walks start and end at Ramsay Park. Course maps are available on our website.

New registrations can be taken all week at PVSS!

PARKING

There is a small amount of parking in the Ramsay Park lot off Harkins Slough Road, by the race registration area. There is also parking on Harkins Slough Road and in the Ramsey Park lot off Main Street.

WHAT TO BRING

1. Your bib if you picked it up before race day

2. Family and friends as cheerleaders

BIBS

Your race bib gets pinned to the FRONT of your shirt. We will provide pins. Pin the bib at all four corners.
