Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series: Half Marathon Challenge
The Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series Sacramento Trail Half Marathon is the final event in the Fleet Feet Sports Trail Run Series. The Series begins with a Six Mile Trail Challenge on February 5th, an Eight Mile Trail Challenge on February 19th, a Ten Mile Trail Challenge on March 5th, and the Trail Half Marathon on March 26th. The four race series dates are February 5th, February 19th, March 5th, and March 26th, 2011, with Series Champions crowned at the final race for top male and female athletes in each 10-year age group racing in all four events.

Half Marathon
The Fleet Feet Sports Half Marathon Challenge starts along the shore of Folsom Lake and after a short section on pavement begins climbing the small hills of the shoreline for an out and back course that veers once to a scenic point along the lake and returns up some short but steep hills, with aid stations spread evenly along the course. There is a climb up Mooney Ridge on the way back to the finish line.

The 5K Run/Walk Course will be on a combination of crushed granite paths on the lakeshore, single track trails and some pavement on roads within the State Park at Folsom Lake.

Aid Stations:
Aid stations will be located on the course at miles 1, 2.5, 3.5, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 each serving cold water, Electrolyte beverage, and CLIF Shot energy gels and Bloks.


Granite Beach, Folsom Lake

From the Bay Area take Interstate 80 east to Douglas Blvd.

From Reno take Interstate 80 west to Douglas Blvd.

Granite Bay State Park on Folsom lake is located at the end of Douglas Blvd, 5-6 miles East of I-80. Turn right at the third stop sign after entering the park for the Granite Beach parking lot. There is a $10 vehicle charge for day-use or $125 for an annual pass.
Other Info

First place Overall Male and Female in the Half Marathon Challenge will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards three deep in each ten-year age group for the Sacramento Trail Half Marathon.

Series Champion Awards will be given in each 10-year age group to the top male and female athletes racing in all four Sacramento Trail Run Series events on: February 5th, February 19th, March 5th, and March 26th.

For the 5k run/walk, awards will be three deep in each ten year age group, plus overall champion awards for first overall male and female.

Listening devices: MP3, IPod, headphones, etcARE allowed in the Sacramento Trail Run Series events. Runners must exercise caution when crossing any roads and must pay attention at all times when running trails.
