2020 Dear John 5K

• 5K Run/Walk:- Run 3.1 Miles

A 5K walk & run to celebrate the life of Rep. John Lewis and support his battle against pancreatic cancer. The point-to-point event starts at 9am in historic Druid Hills' Dellwood Park, travels the Freedom Trail along John Lewis Freedom Parkway, and ends in Old Fourth Ward by the historic David Howard School. The 5k takes place rain or shine.

We'll collect Get Well Cards, Letters, and Artistic Well Wishes at the beginning of the race to deliver to Mr. Lewis. Volunteers can sign up at https://signup.com/go/tcPTBgr

Funds raised will support Pancreatic Cancer Research (https://www.pancan.org/) and the Freedom Park Conservancy (http://www.freedompark.org/fpc/).

Event details and schedule

Day of Registration and number pickup begin at 8am at start east of Clifton & S. Ponce de Leon Ave NE. Race begins at 9am, rain or shine.

BRING A CARD, LETTER, or ARTISTIC "Get Well" and we'll collect at beginning of the race to deliver to Mr. Lewis afterwards.

Run/walk begins near Clifton Road & S. Ponce de Leon Ave, connects to Freedom Trail, and continues along the John Lewis Freedom Parkway ending in Old Fourth Ward by the historic Howard School building.

Parking is on-street only, so plan to rideshare, carpool, or take mass transit. From NORTH AVE station, take bus #2 eastbound (10-15 min to Clifton Road). From EAST LAKE station, take #2 bus westbound to Clifton Road. Buses run every 30 min. https://www.itsmarta.com/2.aspx
