**Race Has Been Postponed** Due to COVID-19 we have tentatively moved our race date to Saturday, November 6, 2021. 

Have you ever wanted to help a charity, but felt a 10k or a marathon was too daunting? Then our race is for you!

The inaugural Race for Rescuers 0.5k charity race will benefit Team Rubicon -- a nonprofit organization comprised of active military personnel and veterans that can rapidly deploy teams for disaster response missions around the world. This group not only helps victims of hurricanes, tornadoes, and other natural disasters recover quickly, but they do it by helping veterans re-integrate back into civilian life. So this race will not only help victims of natural disasters, but also our military veterans. 

The race is an opportunity for our community and others to support a great charity regardless of age and athletic ability. This race allows us to help the cause with donuts, music, and minimal movement.

If you start doubting yourself and begin asking: “Can I do this?  Will I finish?”  The answer is yes!  In fact, we believe in your vast skills so much that we’ll give you your medal before the race even starts! Why you ask? Because it’s easier for us and you’re already a winner!

What if I don’t live in Atlanta but still want to support the cause? You can sign up for our “Virtual Runner” program. Two of our dedicated staff will run the race for you! Your name will be placed on a sticker that they will wear while they endure the grueling demands of this race for you. They will have a GPS device so you can track their movement live during the race and feel like you were right there with them!

It’s also not that far! A 0.5K = 0.3 miles = 546 yards (just about five football fields). We have confidence that every one of you can make it! And when you do, just like in “longer races,” you will be rewarded with amazing prizes that show off your superior athleticism and endurance.

All local runners will receive:

- A race T-shirt

- A participation medal

- A pretentious oval Euro-style sticker to place on your car windshield

Join your family, friends, coworkers, and complete strangers for a race that you will always remember.  If you are still reading this, then this race is your destiny! It’s going to be intense, so we have supplied everything you will need to power through the race: At the halfway point we will provide water, coffee, and donuts to help you re-hydrate and carbo-load to ensure max energy output so you finish like the champion you are. There will be a medical tent, because why not? We’ll also have photographers (if it’s not on social media it didn’t happen), as well as a “cooling station” at the finish line complete with a pool and beverages to rehydrate.
