Description

_ The 2020 NCNWTF Frogman 3D Bowhunters Challenge + 5K:

NCNWTF Frogman 3D Bowhunters Challenge & 5K (Frogman)

About Frogman:

Frogman was originally created by The Campbell Family in 2012 to honor the wish of their beloved SOC (SEAL) Christopher Campbell who lost his life during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan when a CH-47 Chinook helicopter, call sign Extortion 17, in which he and 30 others Americans were riding was shot down on August 6, 2011. The event honors his final wish to support combat wounded veterans, his love for hunting, especially bow hunting, and the outdoors.

Due to no longer being able to hold the event on Campbell property, the event has not been held since 2016. For the last 3 years the Campbell’s have been working to find a solution to keep Chris’ memory alive. Local chapters of the NWTF were supporters from the beginning, so Chris’ brother, Le Campbell asked the NCNWTF to continue this event in Chris’ name to benefit their outreach programs and combat wounded veterans. That vision has finally become a reality! By supporting Frogman you ensure that Chris’ Wish carries on and that he and his teammates are Never Forgotten!

This event is made possible by the North Carolina Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation

The North Carolina Chapter of the NWTF shares our National organization's mission statement: Dedication to the Conservation of the Wild Turkey and the Preservation of the Hunting Tradition.

North Carolina is a participant in the Five Star program within the National organization. We have dedicated the efforts of this chapter to give something back to our members and our communities, involve families in wildlife conservation, protect our right to hunt, develop a stronger relationship between the state and local chapters, create a positive image for the organization, and build a better future.  By adopting these goals, the North Carolina Chapter of the NWTF acknowledges the importance of our volunteers and local chapters.  This action signifies our commitment and passion to provide a future where wildlife resources are abundant and there are ample opportunities for everyone to hunt and enjoy the outdoors.

We are very proud of the work which has been completed and for the ongoing support and dedication of volunteers and partners across the state.  The work did not stop with the turkey restoration project; habitat work and education continue to be high on the priority list.  We need your help more than ever to ensure our children and grandchildren have an opportunity to hunt this magnificent bird in North Carolina and across our great Country.
