Conquer the Waterfront

The John Mendez Memorial Youth Center and Wilmington Teen Center are non-profit (501c3) organizations that started in the late 1960's in an effort to provide positive programs and activities for teens in the wake of the Watts Riots. Currently, Learn 4 Life Charter School is located in the John Mendez Memorial Youth Center, and for the past 50 years, the John Mendez Memorial Youth Center and Wilmington Teen Center have provided thousands of summer jobs for teens, tutoring, career planning, sports programs like boxing, karate, weightlifting, basketball and football, as well as summer camps, field trips, a teen leadership council, arts, and other cultural activities. These centers are a crucial resource to Wilmington teens, and Conquer the Waterfront will provide necessary funding to continue providing this programming to teens in the community.

W. "C" Sreet, Wilmington, CA 90744
 Conquer the Waterfront Run/Walk will start and end at the park's West Pavilion.
