2020 SGBC 5K / 10k Mission Challenge - NEW DATE...

• 10K Run :- Run 6.2 Miles

_ The 2020 SGBC 5K / 10k Mission Challenge:

This event has raised over $76,000.00 in the past 7 years.  These funds have allowed the youth & members of Summer Grove Baptist Church to spread God’s word throughout many countries and within the USA.  All funds raised from this event will fund mission work at Summer Grove Baptist Church. 

New Race date: September 5th, 2020

Both the 5K and 10K will start at 8:00 a.m. from the Bell Tower area.

The race starts at the Bell Tower, goes around the church, through an adjoining residential neighborhood and back to the starting point.  Race certification will be conducted by Sportspectrum.

Register at Summer Grove Baptist Church or at www.Sportspectrumusa.com.  With your registration you will receive a race shirt, a chance to win door prizes and our new race medal.  But most of all you are helping to support God’s Mission work.

May 1 through race day $40.00

Shirts are not guaranteed for any registration after Ausgust 28th, 2020

January 1 to Race Day $20.00 (includes race day shirt)

Packet Pick Up will be at Sportspectrum starting on Thursday, September 3rd from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Friday, September 4th from 10:00a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Packet Pick Up will be at the church the morning of the race from 7:00 a.m. until 7:50 a.m.

7:00 a.m. Registration / Packet Pick Up Opens

7:30 a.m. Children’s Pre-Race starts

7:40 a.m. Gathering of all Walkers & Runners For the 5K and 10K Races

7:45 a.m. Pledge of Allegiance

7:50 a.m. Race Registration & Packet Pick Up Closes

7:55 a.m. Transfer of Pre-Race Activities over to Sportspectrum Race Management

8:00 a.m. Both 5 & 10K races begin

 
Medal Presentations will start around 9:15 a.m. for 1st thru 3rd places in age groups along with the trophy presentations for fastest Male & Female in both races.

COVID -19 guidelines for the 2020 Summer Grove Baptist Church 5k/ 10k

Start: This year’s race will be a chip start, so everyone can spread out as much as possible to help maintain physical distancing. Your time will not start until you cross the start line, so you do not need to bunch up at the start.

Before and after the race: While waiting for the race to start and after you finish the race we recommend that you wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Please practice good hygiene, Avoid touching your face, Sneeze and cough into tissue, elbow or mask, Maintain physical distance from non-household contacts, Sick individuals should stay home, isolate from household contacts, and contact medical providers, When you return home, wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

We will have sanitizing stations available throughout the venue.

Out on the course: We are recommending that while you are out on the course that you practice social distancing and try not to come in contact with other runners.
