_ The 2021 Great Donut Run / Walk 5k:

The 2020 Great Donut Run is Postponed Until 2021

New Race Date:  Sunday, May 16, 2021

In light of the recent directive from the Governor of the State of California, and the escalating issues related to COVID-19, we are cancelling our upcoming May 17th race.  This decision was not made lightly and we apologize for any inconvenience.   We worked hard to make this 5th anniversary extra special and are deeply disappointed with this action, but the safety of our community and those most vulnerable among us is our main concern. 

We looked at options to postpone later this year, but there's too many uncertainties with the evolving events surrounding COVID-19.  The health and well-being of our runners, volunteers, and staff, continue to be our highest priority.

We have 3 options for our registered runners to choose from:

1.  You can roll it over to next years race on Sunday, May 16th, 2021.  It's the weekend between Mother's Day and Memorial Day.

2.  You can roll it over to the 8th Annual OC / Irvine Turkey Trot at Irvine Valley College on Nov, 25th, Thanksgiving Day.  Same location and race distances offered with medals, shirts, race bibs, division awards and slices of pumpkin pie at the finish.

3. Donate it.  We will use half the proceeded towards this years race expenses that can't be recouped and share the other half with our Charity Partner Urban Health Alliance, Race 4 the Environment. 

We are 100% committed to putting this event on for you all next year and thank you from the bottom our our hearts for all your understanding.   We hope everyone remains safe and healthy at this time.  We will get through this together and truly appreciate your continued support of The Great Donut Run and Urban Health Alliance, Race 4 the Environment.

Our team has been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving events surrounding the recent outbreak of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and considers the health and well-being of our runners, volunteers, and staff with the highest priority.  We are working on the feasibility of hosting it in the Fall but we don't have all the details worked out so nothing is confirmed yet.  We thank you for your patience while we navigate these uncertain times. 

For those of you who have already registered, we kindly ask that you watch your inbox next week for the options we can offer and further instruction.
