_ The 2020 We Run Richmond 5K:

4th annual event- Super Hero Theme!!!! Dress up as your favorite super hero and win a prize!!!

This is a community event, where we'd like to see the entire community come together for a good cause.The goal of this event is to raise enough money to purchase at least 200 backpacks filled with school supplies so that we can provide elementary aged students in Richmond with the tools they need to feel confident and prepared in the classroom. We will be working with elementary schools throughout Richmond to identify which students would benefit most from the backpacks we provide i.e students who would otherwise not have a backpack at all or students with old/damaged backpacks.This year we will be working towards a goal of providing 10 college bound students with $1,000 scholarships.

The "We Run Richmond 5K" is presented by Moving Forward for Our Future, a group of volunteer community members, local businesses, and the Richmond SOL Soccer Club. This is a non competitive 5K Fun Run/Walk. We are also proud to announce our fiscal sponsorship from Urban Tilth. 

The fun takes place Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Registration/sign-in begins at 9am and the 5K will start at 10am. There will be a post race party with DJ, live performances, as well as other forms of entertainment.This is a family friendly event!

There will be health and wellness resources available for members of the community to gain information about resources available to them.

Route Info: Our 5K route is generally flat however the route does include a ramp with stairs that goes over the BART tracks and leads to the Richmond Greenway(the ramp is located at the end of Harry Ells Place - off Macdonald Ave). Our course requires that you also use this ramp on your way back to the finish line. We will have volunteers to help keep participants on course. 

Parking: Street parking is typically available on Macdonald Ave., in front of the park and there is also a parking lot on the back side of the park which is off of Macdonald Ave., on Harry Ells Pl. Please arrive early to allow time for parking and check-in.
