Description

_ The 2020 Superhero 2-Mile Walk/Run:

The Superhero 2-Mile Walk/Run is a fun (costume-encourage but optional) race, encouraging the participation of all ages and fitness levels.  The superhero theme is intended to generate enthusiasm and drive home the idea that everyone is a superhero to someone else while modeling healthy behaviors. The chief focus is in encouraging active living, especially in establishing a healthy lifestyle in youth. As this YMCA initiative also benefits the Reach & Rise mentoring program, there is an additional focus in how adults can be superheroes to future superheroes.

All ages are welcome to participate, but be aware that the trail is not stroller friendly. Adults must be responsible for ensuring minors successfully complete or exit the race course. First aid available, and volunteers will be stationed at various points on the course to help. Following the race, YMCA Healthy Kids Day information and activities will be on site, so stay for the awards ceremony and festivities.

COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED! The race is timed, and prizes are offered for:

3 deep in Overall Male and Female

3 deep for Male and Female in Age Groups:
0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Also, Best Superhero Costume, Best Superhero Group, and multiple Honorable Costume Mentions

This comes to a total of 100 awards.

Children 10 and under race free with paid adult registration. Adult and children 11 & up registrations are $10 + a $1 processing fee; waivers are required of all participants. All children must have an adult responsible for supervision on the course.
