_ The 2020 DeGray Lake Resort State Park's Freedom 5K Fun Run:

Celebrate our sweet land of liberty and Arkansas State Parks with friends and family at DeGray Lake Resort State Park’s 6th annual Freedom 5K Fun Run. Join us at the starting line in your most patriotic outfit and run, walk or march the 3.1 mile course. Runners and walkers alike are sure to enjoy scenic lake views and the shade of mature pine trees along our unique, mixed surface course (1.6 miles pavement, 1.5 mile single track trail). All ages and abilities are welcome.

WHAT'S NEW IN 2020?
Timing: We are thrilled to announce that we are making the jump to chip timing services this year! Fancy!
Awards: Additionally, we are pleased to be able to award the overall first place finishers in both male and female categories this year. Each winner will be awarded a 2-night lodging voucher (details below)
Costume Contest: We are making a change to the costume contest this year. The overall costume contest winner will now receive a 2-night camping voucher good for use at any Arkansas State Park that offers camping! So start dusting off that camping equipment!

RACE ENTRY FEE:

• $20 until May 3
• $25 May 4 - June 3
• $30 June 4 - July 3
• $35 Last Minute Registration (July 4) In-person ONLY at the lodge front desk. 
  *NO REGISTRATION AFTER 7:15 A.M. RACE DAY (JULY 4).

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

AWARDS CEREMONY
Though a “Fun Run” at heart, we’ve gathered the best of overall race, age group, and costume contest prizes. Awards ceremony will begin at approximately 9:30 a.m. near the finish line.

• Overall First Place Finishers (Male and Female):
  Two-night stay at any one of five Arkansas State Park lodges (some restrictions apply).
• Male and Female Age Group Winners (11 and Under; 12-17; 18-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and up):
  One interpretive multi-pass redeemable at DeGray Lake Resort State Park for one admission per snorkel, kayak, or boat tour, or two admissions per golf course safari or crafty corner program.
• Costume Contest Winner:
  All participants are encouraged to dress in their best "Uncle Sam" or "Lady Liberty" inspired attire and take part in the annual costume contest. In order to be considered for the award, participants must stop in at the check-in table on race day before 7:30 a.m. and have their picture taken by a race official. Outfits will be judged based on originality, execution and “patriotic-ness.” The overall winner will be awarded a two-night camping voucher redeemable at any Arkansas State Park with camping facilities (some restrictions apply). Runners up will be awarded interpretive multi-passes (see above for details)

PACKET PICK-UP:   (*PLEASE NOTE - T-shirt sizes are only guaranteed for registrations made through June 20.)
Race packets will be available for pickup at the following times:
Friday, July 3rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Lodge lobby
Saturday, July 4th (race day) from 6:00 – 7:30 a.m at the starting line in front of the Lodge.


4th of July Festivities:
No need to "run" off after the race! DeGray Lake Resort State Park has you covered for all your 4th of July festivities. Post-race lunch may be purchased on the lodge lawn at the Lakeside Grill or inside at the Shoreline Restaurant. Park interpreters will keep you busy with an array of fun activities to choose from including the annual watermelon eating contest, water relays, "Underwater Treasure Hunt" (just for the kids), and more! Don't miss the fireworks show later in the evening which can be viewed perfectly from the lodge back lawn.
