The Bike
I know 13 miles for some of you vets doesn't sound like a lot on a bike, but this is not your millennial buffed out machine built berm on the turn flow course. This is an old school rugged cross country throw your bike on your shoulder kind of race. This is the perfect proving grounds to find out whether the full suspension 27.5 or the hard-tail 29er on fatty's reins supreme. Fast descents, grinding uphills and amazing singletrack will have you coming back year after year to test yourself in The Sunlight Showdown.
There will be no aid stations for the mountain bike race
The Run
Challenge yourself with one of the toughest Half Marathons in the state. This is our 3rd year of the run and the course feedback from past runners has been phenomenal. If you are training for a trail marathon or 50k this is the perfect mid summer speed endurance race for you. Newcomers to the distance do not be scared off! Start with this race and your next half will seem like a walk in the park.
There will be one water only cupless aid station for the run at mile 8.6
