2020 Bears Who Care OktoBEARFest 5K Fun Run & Festival

Location: Hamlin Town Center (Cinepolis Parking Lot)
Distance: 5K (3.1 miles)

The third annual OktoBEARfest 5K Fun Run & Festival is a healthy, family-friendly event!  Run, walk or jog for a worthwhile cause, Bears Who Care, which provides teddy bears and books to children in need throughout the community.  After the 5K, enjoy a morning of fun activities, including a free kid's race, games, live entertainment, food stands, raffles, plus major prize giveaways and a beer garden.  

Runners and walkers are all welcome to participate.  

REGISTRATION*
Adult Registration (through 10/8) - $35

Adult Late Registration (10/9 - 10/15) - $40
Adult Packet Pick Up Registration (10/16 & 10/17) - $40
Adult Day of Race Registration (10/18) - $45

Youth Ages (4 to 12 years old)
Youth Registration (10/9 - 10/15) - $35
Youth Packet Pick Up Registration (10/16 & 10/17) - $35

Youth Day of Race Registration (10/18) - $40

Ages 3 and under are free.

*A $2.50 processing fee will be applied for all race registrations online, which you can decide how to pay.

Online registration ends on Thursday, October 15 at midnight, and race items can be picked up at the packet pick up locations.  Starting on Friday, October 16, registrations must be done at the packet pick up locations or the event, based on availability.

AWARDS
Awards will be given in the following categories:
Overall Male, Overall Female

TIMING AND SCORING
This event will be chip timed using a disposable chip on the back of your bib.  Please be sure to wear your bib on the front side just below your chest to ensure accurate scoring. Bibs not worn in the proper place may not receive a proper time.  Results will be posted onsite day of race and online.

PACKET PICK UP
Pre-race packet pick up and race registration times (the location will be announced at a later date):

Friday, October 16
2:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, October 17
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

5K packets and bibs will be available at the event starting at 6:30 am before the start of the race.  Go to the Registration/Packet Pick Up area near the Start/Finish line.

PARKING
The event is being held on the top level of the Cinepolis parking lot in the section closest to Hamlin Groves Trail (directly across from Publix).  There are parking spaces behind the festival and on the sides.  As you face the theater, the parking entrance is on the left side (the start/finish line is on the right side).  There will be signs and attendants guiding you.

T-SHIRTS
All pre-registered participants will receive a special event day t-shirt.  Sizes are only guaranteed to participants registered by Wednesday, October 9.  Shirts and shirt sizes are not guaranteed for day of race registration. 

RESTRICTIONS
For safety reasons, bicycles, skateboards, inline/roller skates, motorized carts of any kind and pets are not allowed on the race course.  Baby strollers and baby joggers are welcome to participant, but must start at the back of the starting pack.  Children riding in strollers or joggers do not need to be registered. 

REFUND POLICY
There are no refunds or transfers for this event.  This event will take place rain or shine.
