The Liberty 5K is a chip timed run on a certified course that takes runners through Nostalgic Downtown Morris and area parks and neighborhoods.  The route is completely paved, and primarily flat with slight hills. 

The Liberty 5k not only supports and honors local military personnel, but involves them in the event.  But military involvement is just one of the keys to the success of this event.  The Liberty 5K boasts the Junior Patriots Kids Run, great food for runners, special awards for military personnel, cash awards and great give aways for all participants.

The Course
The 5k course takes you through Nostalgic Downtown Morris and area parks and neighborhoods.  The route is completely paved, primarily flat with slight hills.  The Liberty 5K is a chip timed race on a certified course.  Certification Code IL-12005NM

Junior Patriots 1/4 Mile Kids Run
11 and under

5k Run/Walk:
14 and Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over

Awards:
Overall Top 3 Male and Female: Award and Cash Prize: 1st place - $200, 2nd - $150, 3rd - $100
Top 3 Male and Female Military
Overall Top 3 Male and Female – Masters (40+)
Top 3 Male and Female in each Age Division
Award for most patriotic participant in Junior Patriots Kid’s Run
Cash prizes to the 3 running clubs with the most participants: 1st place: $750, 2nd prize: $500, 3rd prize: $300
Special recognition of veterans and active military personnel
Cash prize to the school with the most runners on their track or cross country team: 1st place: $200, 2nd place: $100

Registration Fees:
5k Runners and Walkers, all ages: 

• $25 (online or received by mail on or before 5/31)
• $30 (online or received by mail on or before 6/21)
• $35 (Race Day 7/3)

14 and Under Runners and Walkers $18.00
Junior Patriots Kid’s Run: $5.00 (Registration on Race Day Only)
