_ The 10th Annual Storm Runners Race:

Join us for the 10th Annual Storm Runners Race featuring a 1 mile fun run and 5k run/walk on the beautiful cross country course at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church and School. Race to benefit the: SHEPHERD OF THE LAKES SCHOOL “STORM”

New this year the race will be held on Sunday afternoon starting at 3:30 pm. The race will feature an open start line from 3:30 to 4:30 pm for both the 5k and the 1 mile. 

How does the open/flexible start line work? Start the race any time between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm.  There will be no crowded mass start. Keep an eye on the start line and begin your race when it is free of other participants. No more than 5 people will start at a time.  The start line will be wide, and the space is very open to allow for proper social distancing. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Start your race when you are ready. Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats. This is for both the 5k and the 1 mile.

COURSE: Cross country type course including trails and fields with slight hills. Race is chipped timed.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION: At Start/Finish area starting at 3:00 pm.

PACKET PICKUP: At Shepherd of the Lakes Church. Pre-Race: Sept. 18, from 8 - 9 a.m. & 3:30 -5:00 p.m.;
Race Day Sept. 20, from 9:30am to 11:30 or 3:00 pm.

AWARDS: Medals to all finishers, Gift Cards to top 3:Male and Female in all age groups listed below. Awards will be mailed after the event.

AGE GROUPS: 1 Mile Fun Run: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-14 5K Run/walk: 10 & under, 11-17, 18 & over Male and Female, Male and Female overall

REGISTRATION INCLUDES: Commemorative race T-shirt. Shirts not guaranteed for late entries (after Sept.9th).

PARKING: Available at Shepherd of the Lakes Church & School parking lots, please no parking on grass.

The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and on the web at Playmakers.com.
