_ The 12th Annual Headless Horseman Run:
Chase the Headless Horseman out of town with the 12th Annual Headless Horseman 5K and Monster Mile! Be one of the many costumed runners to race through the streets of Howell and into the shadows of the Lakeview Cemetery. This night time race will start and finish on State Street (North of Clinton near Church St.) in Downtown Howell.
Trophies will go to overall Men’s, Women’s, and Master’s. Medals will go to the top three in each age and gender category in the 5K (age divisions based on age as of race date). Race awards will be available for pick up in the Kizer Law Firm parking lot next to the race starting line along with refreshments and bottled water. Deadline to register and be guaranteed a t-shirt is Friday, Oct 9. Early packet pick up time is TBD.
Please note there are sections of this course that are unpaved and it will be dark during the race. The race course is lit by street lights and attempts are made to designate the pathways throughout the park and cemetery. Strollers and dogs are allowed at the race but we ask that you please start toward the back of the group along with walkers.
Please note that revenue from this race helps to cover not only costs incurred from the race itself but also helps to make the Legend of Sleepy Howell possible. This longstanding community event offers a FREE trick-or-treating experience and helps especially those kids living in rural areas. Thank you for your interest in our Headless Horseman 5K and we hope to see you there!
