_ The 2020 Oak Park Challenge:

Please note we are in extraordinary times and things are always subject to change.  If we have to make this event virtual we will encourage all participants to run the actual course to obtain a finish time. This will be published no later than September 15th.

Effective July 8th we are adding a virtual for those that prefer the virtual event regardless if there is a live event.

New rules and instructions which will be updated again prior to the race.

We are limiting to 150 runners.

Social Distancing Strictly Enforced.

Staggered start based on seed time or last years time.

Slight course modification to prevent overlapping runners.

New post race breakfast scheduled at this time.

Further instructions published prior to the race.

Join us an explore some amazing trails on Monte Sano Mountain.  We will start at the base of Monte Sano Mountain at the Oak Park Recreation Center and climb over 3 miles up to the top of Monte Sano and then return!

Every runner will get a very cool Oak Park Challenge Hoodie.  Finishers will receive a very special award designed by a local artist.

We have a new training program specifically for the Oak Park Challenge Race. http://www.fleetfeethuntsville.com/fleet-feet-running-club-huntsville/rock-runners-opc

March 18 reopen statement:

****I understand this is a non-refundable event and all race expenses have already been paid.  We are in an unprecedented situation with COVID-19 in our area and things that are beyond our control.

Given the current situation with COVID-19 that status of large gatherings and events is unclear.  At this point , we still plan to have this event in November.  However, if the current situation does not improve the race could be canceled all together.  Obviously, the current situation is dynamic and things could change at any time.  We will notify any registered participants as soon as possible via email.  We will consider all our options if we are put in this position:

Postponing the event
Converting the event to a virtual event
Deferring to next year
Canceling all together
Please understand if you can not make the event for any reason our agreement clearly states that this is non-refundable.  Thank you for understanding!
