2020 Clermont Clay 15K Run...

_ The 2020 Clermont Clay 15K Run:

APPROVED TO RACE LIVE on the world famous Clay loop!!! As of August 21st, 2020 this race has been given the green light  by Lake County to be a live event!!! The Clermont Clay 15K will have race cap so don't delay your registration and reserve your spot. A new race format has been implemented to comply with the new social distancing guidelines. Please read all the details on this page to familiarize yourself with the new race format and help us execute a safe and fun event for everyone. In order to adhere to the new social distancing recommendations by state and county officials as well as the CDC, participants will need to pick a time corral upon registration. Corrals will be every 5 minutes with 80 participants in each slot. Participants will toe the start line 5 at a time, 6 feet apart, as we move the 80 runners through. 

The event owner is South Lake Multisport Events, Inc a nonprofit created in order to raise awareness and money for running trails in south Lake County. Because of your love and support for the Clay Trail, we are hopeful that there will be a portion of 5 Mile Road that will be turned into a dedicated dirt trail in the future.  This dirt trail will have no car traffic and will have amenities which we believe will create an even better endurance venue!  We do not have a timeline or many specifics at this time, but we will keep the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/10-Mile-Clay-Loop) updated with those details.  

Thanks to the volunteer efforts of everyone involved, we’ve raised nearly $70,000 year to date to put towards endurance venues in South Lake County.

Distance: 15K (9.3 miles) 

Time:  7:00 am First time corral 

Awards: 15k will have awards for top 3 overall, 1st place Masters AND top 3 in each age group, female and male, 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+               

We will not have a live award ceremony. After the event is finished we will announce the top finishers via Facebook Live and also via email. Awards may be picked up anytime at Dash Sports or sent vial mail (if this option is requested an invoice will emailed for shipping and handling payment).

Packet Pickup - Race weekend registration

Friday October 30th 1  PM - 7 PM and Saturday, October 31st, 12pm-4pm Dash Sports, 741 W Montrose St Clermont, FL 34711 If you are unable to pick up your packet at early packet pick up, you may have a friend or family member pick up for you. Every participant must sign the COVID declaration form, which will be emailed to all registrants and volunteers three days before the race.

Packets  will also be available on race day at race location starting at 6:00 AM and closing at 6:45 AM. There will NOT be race day registration.

Event Transfer / Refunds:   Did something come up in life or an injury?  We will miss you!  But you are allowed to transfer your bib to another participant or  transfer to the virtual option.  Please review our refund policy and log in to your Run Signup account to make any changes.  Up to 5 days before the event a registrant can transfer the entry to another person. The registrant offers their registration to another user, and upon that user's paid registration at the current price, the original registrant receives a refund. The t-shirt size will remain the same as what the original registration had.  Bib transfer deadline is Oct 26th, 2020.  There are no registration refunds allowed, only transfers!!  If you still want to be a part of the day, we always need more volunteers.  https://runsignup.com/Race/Volunteer/FL/Clermont/ClermontClay15K

Finisher Medal: All registered participants that complete either the live or virtual race will receive a finishers medal.

Chip timing:  The 15k  will be chip timed.

Time Restriction: All participants in the live event must be able to maintain a pace of at least 16 minute per mile and must be able to finish in at least 2 1/2 hours.

Stroller and Dogs Restrictions: For safety reasons NO pets of any kind  or strollers / joggers are allowed on the race course during the event.   Service dogs will be allowed and we ask that you please start at the back of the pack. Bicycles, skateboards, or any other non-authorized motorized carts or vehicles are not allowed on the race course during the event. Please help us execute a safe race for everyone and leave your pooch and wheels off the course. 

Aid Stations:  In order to ensure the safety of our participants and volunteers, we will not be handing out cups with hydration. If you wish to take advantage of the on course aid stations you will need to carry your own refillable bottle/cup. A volunteer wearing gloves will be present to assist participants who have their own hydration reservoir. There will be at least 4 aid stations on the 15k (miles 2, 4, 6, 7.8) .  They will be stocked with water, Skratch Labs electrolyte drink and aid stations at mile 6 and 7.8 will have energy gels.  A HUGE thank you to Skratch Labs for supplying us with on course hydration!
