_ The 2020 Deep Creek Half Marathon:
A point to point run starting at the Telluride Regional Airport 2100 Airport Road, Telluride CO
This a beautiful race with amazing views of the Telluride Box Canyon. Mostly on single track winding through the aspen trees at the height of their color.
Runners will start at the parking lot at the Telluride Airport. Head up the paved road of 1/4 mile. Turn left on Last Dollar Road, CR 638 and follow the road for a mile.
On the right will be a parking area and the Deep Creek connecting trail, FS 418.1b. Once on the trail follow it till it connects with the Sheep Creek Trail, FS 418. Stay right on the Deep Creek Trail. Climb steeply for a few miles till the trail levels out. Here will be the 1st aid station.
Continue following the trail for several more miles till it connects with the Mill Creek Trail, CR 637. Turn left and the second aid station is located here.
Cross the bridge and follow the trail for 2 miles. This trail is known locally as The Waterline Trail. The Waterline trail ends at the Jud Wiebe Trail, FS432. Turn left onto the Jud Wiebe. Follow the trail up and over to Liberty Bell Trail, FS 431. Turn right and climb slightly before heading down. The trail ends at Tomboy Road, CR 869.
Make a right on Tomboy Road and follow for apprx. 1/4 mile downhill to the intersection of paved road Oak Street. Make a left onto Oak Street and follow downhill for 3 blocks to the finish line.
The Finish Line will be in the park that’s located between the San Miguel County Courthouse and The Sheridan Opera House. Oak Street dead ends into this park.
