_ The 2020 VFW Post .1k Fun Run:

2019 was the inaugural year of the VFW Post .1k Fun Run. Now it has become an annual event to be held on the Saturday before our Founders Banquet.

This is a FUN run to encourage maximum participation from runners, joggers, walkers, adaptive adventurers, and kids young and old. ALL proceeds from the event will go to help local veterans and the military community.

We are glad to partner with the West HS JROTC program, who are the official hosts of the day. A portion of the money raised will go toward paying for the cadets to travel to and attend various competitions.

Because VFW Post 1 was founded in 1899, the fee for this event will be $18.99, which included entry into as many heats as you want to enter, a race t-shirt, and a race bag full of goodies.

.1k is approximately 108-yards. This makes West High School the perfect location, so we can run from one end of their football field to the other. It is also short enough that early December weather shouldn’t slow you down.
