_ The 2020 Fischang-Cicchetti Memorial Road Race:

Come join us for this year's Fischang-Cicchetti Memorial Road Race - a 5-mile pre-Thanksgiving Sunday-morning classic favorite of runners all over Connecticut, taking over the streets of Waterbury for the 46TH YEAR IN A ROW!!! 

We are so excited to be holding this race in 2020. There will be some changes this year in order to follow public regulations and keep our participants, volunteers, and staff safe. If you register, please understand that you are committing to following all required procedures throughout the event.  Thanks for your patience and cooperation in helping us make this sure this event can happen safely.

This year there will only be a 5 Mile Race (no 5K option).  There are some small changes on the course due to road work but it is very similar to the traditional course you know and love. Online registration is highly encouraged, and there will be NO race-day registration.  Registration is limited to 250 participants, with the first 200 registrants receiving t-shirts. Pre-race packet pick-up will be mandatory (no race day check in) and can be done at the Front Desk of the Greater Waterbury YMCA on Friday November 20 from 5-7pm or Saturday November 21 from 11am-3pm.

When registering, you will be asked for your estimated race time. In addition to being assigned a race number, you will be assigned a "start wave."  There will be 50 participants per start wave, who will line up on the street on socially-distanced markings.  Face coverings are required up until the race start and immediately upon finishing the race.  They are not required during the race but we encourage racers to maintain a safe social distance throughout their 5 mile journey. 

There will be awards for top 3 male & female overall, and top 3 male & female in each division (no cash prizes this year).  There will not be an awards ceremony after the race, but awards can be picked up at the Greater Waterbury YMCA Front Desk during the week, or they will be mailed. 

Registration will close on Wednesday November 18 or when registration reaches the 250 person capacity, whichever comes first. Please register online - please register early!  We hope to see you on November 22, 2020.
