2021 Mileage Monsters 5k Run...

_ The 2021 Mileage Monsters 5k Run:

Every runner will receive a swag bag of goodies (all treats, no tricks!). 

There is limited parking available at the park, with additional legal parking along Indian Creek Parkway and some space at the Indian Creek Trailhead across Blackbob (take the Trail to the park!).

Packet pickup will be at KC Running Company, 200 E 135th St, KC MO on a drive thru basis, October 22 from 2-6.
Feel The Music DJ will be on site to keep everyone upbeat and having a great time.

8:00 Day of packet pickup open
8:00 Festival area and raffle baskets available for viewing
8:30 (approx) CoffeeCake KC truck will be ready to keep you comfy
8:45 Warmup with James Hanton of GotEm Fit
8:55 Final announcements
9:00 Wave release for the race begins based on estimated finish time

Raffle - we have several gift baskets that you can "bid on" with raffle tickets. Each entrant will get tickets, and you can purchase more tickets (cash or debit) onsite. All proceeds go to the 1DOS Foundation www.1dosf.org to help us continue our fitness scholarship work.

CoffeeCake KC https://coffeecakekc.com/ is scheduled to have their truck on site as well!

1DOS Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization based in Olathe, dedicated to providing fitness scholarships. We find candidates who are looking to get healthy, needing to get fit (often for medical reasons) - but can't afford the associated costs.  Our scholarships provide gym memberships, fresh produce, and other assistance to these committed individuals. 

Safe racing guidelines courtesy of KC Running Company: 

• Drive thru packet pickup
   
• Require masks to be worn pre and post race when not running
   
• Staggered start in small waves, based on expected finish time given at registration
   
• Marked spots in the start chute for people to stand six feet apart while waiting to start
   
• Bottles of water set out on a table at the water station instead of filling and handing out cups of water
   
• Bib chips instead of shoe chips so no volunteers are in the finish chute removing timing chips
   
• No race results printed at the race, posted to the internet instead
   
• No awards given out at the event, mailed out afterwards
   
• Grab and go bags with medals, swag, bottled water, and post race snacks are set out on a table at the finish for the finishers to pick up
   
• Generally trying to reduce contact and congestion and promote social distancing
