Welcome to the 2021 Almond Blossom Run!!

The 39th Annual Almond Blossom Run is Sunday, February 21, 2021. 

We're not just another run in the park ... join us in Durham for a beautiful Sunday morning with the almond trees in full bloom!  As in past years, this event includes a 5K and 10K run with chip timing provided by Under the Sun Events. 

In 2021, you have three options to enjoy our event:

• a live, in-person event with social distancing for a COVID-safe run with waves of 25 runners every 15 minutes;
• a virtual event on our official course at your convenience anytime between February 13 and February 20; and
• a virtual, make-your-own course anytime between February 13 and February 21. 

Participants in the virtual event will receive directions on how to submit virtual times after January 31st.

Participants in the in-person and virtual events (when data is submitted via RunJoy, etc.) are eligible for the top male and female finisher awards in both the 5K and 10K events who will receive a gift certificate for a pair of running shoes from Fleet Feet - Chico.  Prizes will not be awarded by age divisions this year.  

Participants may choose from long-sleeved technical or short-sleeved poly-cotton blend shirts.  Registration is still just $40 (in-person and virtual) through race day, although be sure to register early as only 325 shirts in various sizes and styles have been ordered.  

Sponsors are a critical partner in this event ... and allow us to increase our financial support of our student programs. The 2021 event is now more important than ever for our student athletes as Durham Sports Boosters has pledged all of its available financial resources to fund coaching stipends in 2020-2021.  We need to restore funds to continue to support additional equipment needs and scholarships.  And, Durham Sports Boosters has launched a fundraising campaign to replace the dilapidated bleachers in the high school gymnasium and will match the first $30,000 in contributions.
