The Charity Challenge Twisted Trails 5K Color Run:

This fun filled, exciting trail race offers challenges to both experienced trail runners and weekend warriors. The course is a hand timed 5K with a 1 mile option. Run, walk or crawl through beautiful forests and over the twisted terrain, a portion of the trail spills onto the enchanting Voluntown Peace Trust and there is even a rocky stream crossing to test your fortitude! You will find other crazy challenges along the way - a tire obstacle, balance beam, ball toss, crawl through, a log walk and more! The three Color Blaze stations will surprise and delight you and your race kit comes complete with a really awesome tee shirt, a wristband, a packet of color to use as you please, tattoos, a sticker and cool sunglasses!

Remember that 100% of net proceeds benefit our five carefully chosen local charities! When you register online, you can choose to have your portion go toward one or all of the nonprofit organizations who are working hard everyday in our community: Reliance Health, Bags of Hope, TriCircle, Inc., Safe Futures, and Veterans Rally Point. This race is open to individuals of any age or teams of 3 or more, highlights of this race include; beautiful scenery, twisted terrain, great swag, enthusiastic volunteers, and cool raffles. CHILDREN 12 AND UNDER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES. Honoring our loved ones! Essential workers will receive discounted pricing. Front line workers will be honored. A Tribute/Memorial Wall will be constructed onsite to honor those who have served on the front line, and those who have been affected by or have lost their lives to COVID19. Bring a photo or decorate a heart to hang on the wall in memory or honor of someone you love. Post Event Celebrations Beginning at 8:30am, Brunch will be made available for purchase a la carte by the amazing culinary team at the rustic and charming Tamarack Lodge – enjoy a Mimosa, Bloody Mary while tasting bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, pancakes, eggs and bacon, french toast, wraps, breakfast burritos, burgers or salads! A Kids Menu is available, too. Grab and go or enjoy safe and socially distanced outdoor dining! Beer from Owl Head at Tamarack will also be available for purchase - try one of their home brewed IPAs, Ales or seltzers. Tours of the amenities on the Tamarack Lodge property will be conducted upon request beginning at 9:30 am.
