_ The 42nd Annual Great Wyoming Buffalo Stampede:

Place:

Wyoming Park on Third Street in Wyoming, DE (The park will be on your right). Registration opens at 6:00 A.M. Please park along the railroad tracks and walk to the park.  Do not park at Hall’s Restaurant.  Course: 5K/10K, USATF CERTIFIED course on mostly paved country roads through orchards and scenic countryside.  “Kiddie Race” before Stampede.  No water on the course due to COVID restrictions so bring your own hydration.  Water will be provided before and after the race.

Registration:

Early Bird Price: 5K $25 & 10K $30 until July 1, 2021; otherwise 5K $30 &10K $35 after and day of.  Online registration available until July 8th .  Race day registration will be available.  Make checks payable to: DDSR, P.O. Box 1379, Dover, Delaware 19903-1379.  For more information, please email  [email protected].  Online registration available at DDSR.org.  Rain or Shine and no refunds or deferrals.  We are limited to 250 participants.  Limited same day race registration due to COVID.

Awards:

$100 cash prize for new 10K or 5K Run course record.

Our famous hand-carved buffalo awards go to 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place male & female runners in 5-year age groups, starting at 9 & under through 80 & over.

5K walk awards for the top 5 male & female finishers.

No awards ceremony due to COVID restrictions. NOVA Timing Systems will have computers set up to verify your chip time and finish position. You can pick up your award at the awards table in Wyoming Park.

All awards are final and will not be mailed to winners.

Post Race Party

The birthplace of the race was at Brown’s Tavern. Traditionally, we have a post-race party and awards ceremony there. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, we cannot have it this year. Hopefully, this will return for our 2022 race. 

Safety Note

We strongly discourage unofficial entrants (bandits) from competing in our race. Bandits consume scarce resources and can delay or inhibit accurate race results. Unregistered runners, running with dogs and strollers, rollerblading, riding a bicycle, and the wearing of headphones are prohibited on the race course at any time, to ensure runner safety and to comply with liability insurance standards. Facemask Policy

Current guidelines require that participants must wear their face mask at the start and finish of the race. Masks may be removed while racing provided compliance with social distancing guidelines. Staff and race volunteers will be wearing masks at all times as well.
