Mark your calendars for the 5K for Unity on Saturday July 17, 2021.  Five locations in North Carolina: Ponysaurus Brewing (Durham), Divine Barrel Brewing (Charlotte), Vecino Brewing (Chapel Hill), Little Brother Brewing (Greensboro), and Foothills Brewing (Winston-Salem). Together We Stand NC has designated July 17th as a day of conversation and contemplation at your local brewery.  Our local breweries are a safe space for all races and sexual orientations.  Come for a social run and stay for the conversation (and of course delicious beer).

Pick up the 2021 Together We Stand NC tee, the official shirt of the 5K for Unity.  The 2021 Together We Stand shirt is the 3rd in a series of wearable “conversation starters”.  The front of the charcoal heather shirt features our iconic TWS Bull logo and the back features the phrase “Our Lives Begin to End the Day We Become Silent About Things That Matter” (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.). We chose this quote because we believe justice must matter to ALL of us in order for change to occur.  Each registered runner receives an event shirt.

The 2021 Designated Charity for the 5K for Unity at Ponysaurus Brewing is Girls on the Run of the Triangle.

Girls on the Run of of the Triangle is an independent council of Girls on the Run International, established in 2000 to serve Wake, Durham and Orange, Chatham and Johnston Counties. Since inception, we've served more than 18,000 girls all across the Triangle. The true success of the program, however, is not told in the numbers, but in the words of the girls who participate. “I know that whatever I set my mind to do, I can do.” “As a Girl on the Run I learned how to be comfortable in my own skin!” Girls on the Run believes that all girls and communities should have access to our programs. We strive to eliminate barriers to participation, to continue creating programming that engages all communities, to be intentional about staff and volunteer diversity, and to promote a culture of inclusion across the organization.
