SAME COURSE AS 2020 DESIGNED FOR SAFER COVID-19 RUN. INCLUDING A SOCIAL DISTANCE START LINE WITH START TIME CORRALS.

JOIN US for the 6th annual Independence Day 5k/10K/1K in person OR virtual!  If you choose to run on site you will have the awesome experience of running on America's birthday. The 5K will take you through the streets of downtown Cumming. The 10k splits off at 2.3 miles into route and will return the same finish line. Start and finish are two different locations about .4 apart from each other. Please be mindful of and follow all laws, restrictions, and mandates that are in effect for the City of Cumming and the state of Georgia.

This event will follow the health and safety guidelines in place on the day of the race for the City of Cumming and the state of Georgia.

RUNNING ON-SITE: You will be required to enter your estimated finish time when registering.  This will provide appropriate placement and approximate start time for your start of the race. This will enable us to comply with social distancing guidelines for grouping during a transitory event (social distancing does not apply to co-habitating OR persons, units, roommates residing together). Further details will be provided as we get closer to the event.

RUNNING VIRTUAL:  You will have the opportunity to run on your own between July 1st and July 5th.  The cost of the virtual race includes a Tshirt, custom bib, and die cast finishing medal.

RACE PURPOSE (OUR CAUSE)

Our fundraising goals for 2021 will be to continue the work and bring the dream alive of Rob Hasse, who was working on the revitalization of the Mary Alice Park trail system.

Rob was part of the host Forsyth Central High School’s XC booster club, and was instrumental in making the 2014 all county XC meet possible at Mary Alice Park. They were able to clean up and repair enough of the trail network to produce a very successful meet, however a lot of work needs to be completed. Unfortunately, Rob passed away suddenly in March of 2016 before the completion of this project. Now the torch has been passed to us. Rob’s goal was to have all the old trails clean and useable again for the public, and to create a much-needed training area for all the schools in the county.

Funds raised from this event be applied toward materials, labor and rental equipment needed to complete this project.

Post Race:

Awards for Overalls, Masters and age group medals 1st, 2nd and 3rd starting at age 10 and under.

DIE CAST FINISHING MEDALS FOR ALL RACE PARTICIPANTS.
