Description

2012 Surf Guardian Aquathlon & 5K:

The 2012 Surf Guardian Aquathlon & 5K will take place on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at 8 am, at Sunsplash Park in Daytona Beach, FL.

The event will consist of a 1K Beach Run, a 1K Ocean Swim, and a 5K Run through the World's Most Famous Beach!

The race will be professionally timed, and is sanctioned by USAT.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Volusia Surf Lifesaving Association, a non-profit corporation made up of local ocean lifeguards, that serves to educate and inform about the dangers of rip currents, and promotes safe, fun, beach lifestyle choices.

This will be a challenging, fun event for the whole family.

Course Info

The course will be a 1K beach run, which will lead directly into the 1K ocean swim.

The swim course will be adjusted according to surf and tide conditions.

Following the swim, there will be a transition area which will lead right into the 5K.

Directions

From I-95

Take exit for route 92 - (international speedway blvd) and head east.

Follow all the way to ocean.

Turn right on A1A. (south atlantic ave)

Sun Splash will be 3/10th of a mile south on the left.
