_ The 2021 Malta Tractor Trot:
 

The Malta Seedling Project is bringing back The 5K Tractor Trot!!  

Come support your community, no experience needed. Any level of physical fitness, you can walk, jog or run the course. Sideline cheerleaders are welcome also!

The Malta Seedling Project strives to bring awareness of all the wonderful opportunities Malta provides: families, businesses and organizations wishing to develop and enhance our community and lives.

Proceeds from this race will continue the Malta Seedling Project’s current activities and offer new opportunities. Community beautification, Community Garden Club of vegetables & flowers, Music in the Park, Movie in the Park, Prize Bingo, Family Fishing Derby, Fall Garland Festival are some of the AMAZING achievements brought to our community.

New welcome signage, flower beds within the Village, a walk/bike path between town & our local subdivision are a few developments already in progress along with a magnificent Mural to highlight our Malta history and heritage!

To promote fitness and healthy lifestyles for everyone we encourage your participation. Whether you are running your first 5k, striving for your personal best, looking for family time or enjoy a little competition, this event is for you.  The race will be chip timed & with a rolling start. Immediately following the regular race, we will be hosting a Kid’s Dash at the Lion’s Park track. Details coming soon.

Please join the Malta Seedling Project as a participant or spectator Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 9 a.m. in support of our special community, and have some fun!

Prices: $25 pre-registration (deadline 6/11/21)

            $30 race day

            $10 children

             Kid's Fun Run Information

               2 - 4  years old - 50 yards

              5 - 7  years old - 150 yards

             8 - 12  years old - 300 yards

 

Please contact Brenda Jergens at 815-761-1487 or with any questions or comments.  The event will be held Saturday June 12, 2021.  Race day registration  will be available from 7:30 until 8:30 and check-in begin at 7:30 a.m. The run/walk start time is 9:15 a.m. following opening ceremonies at 9:00 am.  Registration, check-in, start, and finish will be located at the Malta Lions Park, 409 N 4th Street, Malta, IL 60150.  

*Must register by 11:59 PM May 29, 2021  to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Covid Safety Guidelines
Race Day Safety Guidelines:

Please understand our goal is to provide a family friendly, fun event where everyone can “Come and Run/Walk Safely”.

 

With that in mind, please observe the following guidelines;

If you have a fever, are feeling ill or have been in recent contact with someone unrecovered from COVID-19, please do NOT come to the event.
 

Per the Illinois Department of Public Health recommendations, it is requested a face mask or face covering be worn by everyone when not on the race course and social distancing should be observed.
 

NO SPITTING! Participants should carry their own tissues or hand towel for spitting, blowing nose, wiping sweat, etc., before, during and after their race.
 

If family members or friends are attending the event with you, they must wear a face mask at all times and we ask that the do not congregate around the finish area.
 

Unless you are with someone living in the same household, participants should not engage in traditional forms of physical contact such as handshakes, high-fives, hugs, partner stretching, etc.
 

Water stations on the course and finish lines will be self serve. Volunteers will not be handing out water to eliminate contact.
The following must be followed at all times by all participants:

Maintain Social Distancing
Stay home if filling ill
Wear Masks
Agree to temperature checks 
 

Participants whose actions do not meet the above expectations, and/or are creating a risk for themselves or others, will be asked to leave the event.
