Crofton Kiwanis/Team Surlis 10K Challenge & 5K Run

• 5K:- Run 3.1 Miles
• 10K:- Run 6.2 Miles

For over 30 years, this has been a great Crofton event. (Our 10K has been certified and you can check it out on this link: https://certifiedroadraces.com/certificate/?type=r&id=958.) The 10K course goes around our community's tree-lined parkway loop and residential side streets, as shown on the map.  It is mostly flat with a few challenging hills.  Our 5K runs only on the Crofton Parkway.  It measures a bit longer than 5K--closer to 5.3K.

All abilities are welcome.  Participants range from age 7 and up.  Water is available at the start, finish and at designated water stations. Course monitors, police and medical support are on-site.  Chip technology will provide instant results.

If there are no County restrictions, our Race will include race day registration, pre- and post-race snacks and a medal ceremony. Registration will begin at 7 AM. Pre-registered runners will be able to pick up their bibs and shirts before the Race Day (locations and times to be announced), with a mailing option.

The 10K will begin promptly at 8 AM, with the 5K immediately following. Results will be posted on active.com and www.croftonkiwanis.org.  Tee shirts are guaranteed to only the first 200 registered runners. (And for the first time, tees will also be available in Youth, size large, measuring 39” across the chest.)

We are planning our Race expecting the county restrictions to have been lifted by then, but recognize that the future is uncertain. We hope that you will understand any changes that have to be made to be compliant with the County rules. Fingers—and toes--crossed that we are back to mostly normal!

All proceeds go directly to community charities and projects by way of the Kiwanis Foundation of Crofton.

Event details and schedule

 Registration begins at 7 AM in Crofton Country Club north parking lot. Starting time for the 10K is at 8AM, with the 5K beginning immediately afterwards. We expect to have our usual set-up, fruit and bagels and water before, after and during the Race at water stations along the course. The awards will be handed out as results are finalized.

We will have pre-registration and bib/shirt pick up available before the Race Day to alleviate wait times on Saturday morning. We will send out emails as to the dates and times.

Results will be posted on Active.com and at www.croftonkiwanis.org.  Tee shirts are guaranteed to only the first 200 registrants and is the same shirt as last year’s.  Additionally this year, we offer a Youth tee shirt, size large, measuring 39” across the chest. 

Please understand that this is our plan. We hope that the situation allows for a real race with all the fixings. We will make any adjustments necessary for the Race to happen. So, in advance, thank you for realizing that some adjustments may necessarily happen.

Due to the late date, we will have limited registration time, so we urge you to pick up your bib and shirt prior to the Race day. We will post/email locations as we near the Race date.
