_ The 2021 Move Forward 5K & 10K:
Due to COVID-19 and current CDC guidelines for the safety of our community, the Move Forward 2021 5k/10k will still take place in-person and a face mask is still required regardless of vaccination status. There will also be a virtual race option for those who do not want to participate in-person but by themselves at home. The virtual race will have a span of 1 week to complete (9/11 - 9/20).
The Move Forward 5K/10K is an event created by the Doctor of Physical Therapy students at Regis University as a community outreach project. The proceeds from the event will benefit Canine Companions for Independence and the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
Experienced runners, casual runners and walkers, well-behaved on-leash dogs, and families are all welcome to participate in this event. This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 18th, 2021. Along with raising funds for the Foundation for Physical Therapy and Canine Companions for Independence, the Move Forward 5K/10K has a number of other goals. These goals include facilitating and encouraging physical activity within the community, as well as raising awareness regarding the role of physical therapists in health promotion and wellness. Through the efforts of Regis University's Doctor of Physical Therapy students and their sponsors, we can make this event a race of choice for the Denver community while simultaneously raising funds to support critical research for rehabilitation and providing service dogs to individuals with disabilities.
"As the Move Forward 5k/10k race committee, we would like to create a quality, fun race and event for the Regis and Denver communities in order to promote physical activity and overall wellness within these communities."
Jogging strollers are welcome in all races. Please be considerate of other racers and start in the back of the pack.
All dogs on leashes are welcome in all races. Please be considerate of other racers.
