The 2021 COFFEE POT TURKEY TROT 5K is a family–friendly, timed 5K looping around St. Petersburg’s Coffee Pot Bayou on Thanksgiving morning. Returning as an in-person race for its fifth year, the event is a beloved tradition for families, friends, and fitness enthusiasts. The event is hosted by the North Shore Elementary PTA to benefit North Shore Elementary, a Title One School. 

The North Shore Elementary PTA believes that every school has the potential for success. Active parents, a supportive community, and engaged students can combine to make any school a warm and stimulating environment in which students are inspired to succeed.

When & Where is the 2021 Coffee Pot Turkey Trot?


The 5th Annual Coffee Pot Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day 5K will take place on Thursday November 25, 2021. 

The start/finish is at North Shore Elementary School located at 200 35th  Avenue NE, St. Pete FL 33703

What is the price of the race?

Adults: 

• $25 until midnight August 31, 2021
• $30 September 1, 2021 until midnight October 31, 2021
• $35 November 1, 2021 until November 25, 2021 (or until race reaches capacity.)

Children 5-11:

• $15.00 until November 1, 2021
• $20 until November 25 (or until race reaches capacity)

Children 5 and under: Free

(Note - children 5 and under do NOT receive a tshirt with a free registration. If you would like your child under 5 to receive a t-shirt, you must purchase one at the end of your registration.) 

What is the race day timeline?

• 6:30 am North Shore Elementary School Opens – Day of Bib Pick Up; Sponsor vendor tables
• 7:30 am Starting ceremony.  Race day start and finish are   sponsored by Wallace, Welch and Willingham. 
• 7:45 am 5K begins
• 8:30 am Announcements & Awards

Is the race timed? 

Yes, the 5K is a chip-timed event.

Is the race USATF certified?

Yes, the course is newly certified in 2021. 

Will there be water stops along the course?

Yes, there will be one water station, generously sponsored by Guardian Restoration Services. 

What is included in the participant registration price?

• Race T-shirt: guaranteed if registered by the t-shirt deadline.
• Finisher medal for registered participants. Medals are generously sponsored by Leaven Law.
• Chip-timed numbered bib 
  NOTE: The option for registered participants to choose a shirt size ends in mid-November. Remaining shirts (if any) will be distributed after the race in the t-shirt area. Shirts & sizes are not guaranteed after the tshirt cut off date. 

Are there Awards for the 5K?


Yes! We present awards for the overall male and female runners (1st, 2nd & 3rd places) as well as overall 12-and-under runners.  In addition, age division winners will receive small awards.    

We also encourage Thanksgiving themed costumes for the race and will award prizes for best individual and best group costumes.

When & Where is Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up?


All pre-race packet pick-ups will take place at North Shore Elementary. Packet pick-up is generously sponsored by Green and Henwood Wealth Management Group.  Information on dates and times of packet pickup will be posted closer to race day. 

Can I pick up someone else’s race bib or can someone pick up mine?


Yes, with a copy of their identification you may pick up someone else’s race bib.  

Is gear-check available race morning?


Gear check/hold is not available on race day.

Are bicycles, rollerblades, scooters, wheeled shoes or other wheeled transportation permitted in the race?
 

For safety reasons, except for participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger, no wheeled vehicles including but not limited to: scooters, rollerblades, rolling shoes and bicycles are allowed on the race course. Participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger will line up in a designated start corral.

Are dogs allowed at the race?


No.  Dogs are not allowed on school board property, which is where the event will start and finish.

Do you need volunteers and how can they sign up?

Where can I find 5K race results?
 

On-site results will be available following the race; a link to results will be emailed to all valid email addresses post-race.
