2021 BEARS WHO CARE OKTOBEARFEST 5K FUN RUN & FESTIVAL

Distance: 5K (3.1 miles); 1K (0.62 miles)
The fourth annual Bears Who Care OktoBEARfest 5K Fun Run & Festival is a healthy, family-friendly event that will be more BEARRIFIC than ever! Either in person or virtually, run, walk or jog for a worthwhile cause, Bears Who Care, which provides teddy bears and books to children in need throughout the community. After the 5K and Kid’s 1K, enjoy a morning of fun activities, including games, live entertainment, interactive sponsor booths, raffles, plus major prize giveaways and a beer garden.
Runners and walkers are all welcome to participate!
Your health and safety are our #1 concerns, so we will have enhanced healthy and safety protocols in place (please see details below).

ALL of the proceeds from the virtual OktoBEARfest Fun Run will benefit children in need through Bears Who Care, which provides new teddy bears and books to children who are disadvantaged or ill.

AWARDS:
Awards will be given in the following categories:
5K - Top Ten Male, Top Ten Female
TIMING AND SCORING:
This event will be chip timed using a disposable chip on the back of your bib. Please be sure to wear your bib on the front side just below your chest to ensure accurate scoring. Bibs not worn in the proper place may not receive a proper time. Results will be posted onsite day of race and online.
PACKET PICK UP:
Pre-race packet pick up and race registration times (the location will be announced at a later date):
Friday, October 22
2:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 23
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
5K packets and bibs will be available at the event starting at 6:30 am before the start of the race. Please go to the Registration/Packet Pick Up area near the Start/Finish line.
PARKING:
Parking details will be provided. There will be signs and attendants guiding you.
T-SHIRTS:
All pre-registered participants will receive a special event day t-shirt. Sizes are only guaranteed to participants registered by 10/8/21. Shirts and shirt sizes are not guaranteed for day of race registration.
RESTRICTIONS:
For safety reasons, bicycles, skateboards, inline/roller skates, motorized carts of any kind and pets are not allowed on the race course. Baby strollers and baby joggers are welcome to participant, but must start at the back of the starting pack. Children riding in strollers or joggers do not need to be registered.
SAFETY:
The health and safety of our community is our priority. This event will have an "in person" capacity of 600 runners with additional capacity available for virtual participants.
Bears Who Care will be implementing safety protocols and work closely with local officials on increased safety protocols due to COVID-19. (Additional details will be provided closer to the event.)
Please note that Bears Who Care may have to change the event to a virtual event only, pending Orange County guidelines and to protect the safety of our participants.
REFUND POLICY:
There are no refunds or transfers for this event. This event will take place rain or shine.
