_ The 2021 SMHS Makin' Hay 10K:
This scenic and rolling 10K course will take you on a journey through some of the prettiest farmland in Frederick County. The fall leaves should be offering up their first hints of color as you run past numerous farms, along Catoctin Creek on a gravel road, and across two, historic one-lane, wooden deck bridges that span Catoctin Creek.
Make a weekend of it and run our Spook Hill Cider & Wine 4-Mile Run on Saturday, October 16th. Register for the Spook Hill/Makin' Hay Race Weekend Bundle and save!
Participants of the virtual and in-person events will receive an event tee-shirt. Finishers of the in-person event will also receive a commemorative glass.
With a return to in-person running events, be assured that we will, at a minimum, be following current local, state, and CDC guidance dicta regarding coronavirus mitigation procedures.
With in-person events still not a given, even for the fall, and with permitted events being subject to revocation of permits by municipal authorities if coronavirus pandemic metrics warrant, we will be offering registration for virtual and in-person runs. You will be able to change your registration between these options (space permitting) at no cost or initiate a partial refund via your RunSignup profile up until 30-days prior to the event. If the in-person event must be canceled for coronavirus-related factors, in-person registrations will be converted to the virtual event.
