2021 VETERANS DAY 5 CANCELED

Unfortunately, the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans does not see the MDHHS lifting the tough restrictions on nursing homes before mid-November.  It is sad on many levels for all of us. Dining has one of the highest infection rates of transmission, so we would not be able to do the post-event community pancake breakfast with Run participants and Home residents. And even if we moved it outdoors, being unmasked with unknown vaccine status or rapid testing everyone, we cannot have guests unmasked within 6ft of the residents or indoors at the Home currently.

The primary goals of the Veterans Day 5 are networking community members with Home resident, and fundraising. Without residents being able to have any contact with Run participants, we have decided to cancel the event for 2021 but hope to be back in 2022! All those registered will be fuly refunded by 10/2/21.
