_ The 13th Annual Canine Classic at Paws Up:
The Canine Classic is a trail hike/run for you and your dog(s) through the scenic trails at Paws Up! Participants can choose from Half-Marathon, 5-Mile and 2-Mile races! In order to promote a healthy event, participants will be sent off in designated corrals depending on health department recommendations. Dogs are welcome and encouraged to participate and can do so off leash on these trap-free lands! We will still offer a Untimed Picnic Hike. This gives people and their dogs even more opportunity to social distance from the rest of the pack and hike the trails on their own with a picnic lunch.
The run takes you on mostly designated trails and some dirt roads. Runners can expect uneven trails especially through pasture area.
After the race enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch prepared by the amazing team at Paws Up. Preparation of lunch will be mandated by the Missoula County health Department at the time of the race. All race entries include one lunch coupon, a swag bag, and the opportunity to win some great prizes! Additional lunch coupons can be purchased the day of the race for $10.
Event proceeds benefit Working Dogs for Conservation.
Health and safety is our priority for this event. Our policies and precautions will be modified frequently to ensure we are meeting and exceeding the current health and safety needs.
Canine Classic Covid Event Plan
We will follow Missoula County Health Department guidelines for each event including the 2 mile, 5 mile, 13 mile and untimed hike.
Participants that would like a more isolated experience can sign up for the untimed hike. You are welcome to check in and then hike/run anytime between 8:00am-12:30pm.
Participants will have access to hand sanitizer at the start and finish of the race, aid stations and food pick up station.
The event is cupless. There will be 4 Aid Stations on the 13 mile course.
In the event that the Canine Classic is cancelled due to air quality or Covid, refunds or deferrals will be considered at that time. Thanks.
