_The 2021 Orcutt Trails 5k/10k/21k:

The Orcutt Trails running event returns for 2021! This time we are privileged to run at Los Flores Ranch Park, with 5k, 10k, and 21k (half-marathon) options. All distances highlight some of the best trails at Los Flores Ranch Park, so get your personal cameras ready. All proceeds go to the Santa Maria Valley Open Space. 

Los Flores Ranch Park is the first of its kind regional open space park in the Santa Maria Valley. At 1,778 acres (nearly 2.8 square miles), the property lies about eight miles south of Santa Maria in the Solomon Hills. The park offers the public a rare mix of environmental education, land preservation, and recreation.

Participants of all course distances will enjoy well maintained single and double track trails with picturesque views of the Santa Maria Valley to the Pacific Ocean and beyond.

The Santa Maria Valley Open Space mission is to establish public trails in a natural setting for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding that will allow passive and spontaneous access and to serve the Santa Maria Valley and surrounding areas. We are residents of the Santa Maria Valley that love to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and look for ways to bring trails to our area.

Event details and schedule

Los Flores Ranch Park is a City of Santa Maria facility. They have been kind enough to make the park available for our running event, please respect the Park, its rules and its staff.

Directions to Los Flores Ranch Park, The Patch - From Clark Ave and US101 head East. At the end of Clark Ave turn RIGHT (SOUTH) on Dominion Rd. Follow Dominion Rd for 1.5 miles, The Patch is on the RIGHT. (some navigation software will not provide accurate directions)

6:30am The Patch gate will be open

8:00am All Races Start

21km, 13.1miles, Half-Marathon (the only race that is never finished) - Follow green course markings. Aid stations are approximately at 6.4km (4 miles) and 16km (10 miles). 100% runnable flowing trail with 580m (1900 feet) of elevation gain.

10km, 6.2miles - Follow yellow course markings. Aid stations are approximately at 4km (2.5 miles) and 6.5km (4 miles). Same flowing trails and 300m (985 feet) of elevation gain.

5km, 3.1miles - Follow pink course markings. Aid station at approximately 3km (1.8 miles)

0km (because km are smaller than miles) - for those folks that want to support local trails but don't want to run. All the excitement of toeing the line, and a cool shirt to show you support the Santa Maria Valley Open Space and our local trails... without the running.

All courses are on dirt trail, gravel roads, and some 'paved' ranch roads. All courses share trails. All courses travel in the same direction. Los Flores Ranch Park is open to the public, please be courteous of other trail users. Rules of the road apply on trails - slow traffic keep right, pass on the left, communicate with other trail users.
