About: This run/walk honors the late John McNichols and Emily Harrington, both advocates for the Wabashiki Wetlands. John, a 34-year coach of the Indiana State University Cross Country and Track Programs, dedicated his life to his family, athletes, and community. John was a visionary and a community leader when it came to the Wabashiki Wetlands. His visions lead to the construction of the Levern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course and the expansion of trails within the Wabashiki Wetlands. Emily also devoted her life to serving her family, friends, and community. Emily is remembered fondly for her love of nature and dedication to recycling and conservation. The Wabashiki trail held special meaning to Emily. Today Emily is celebrated each year with a walk along the Wabashiki trails. Emily\'s Walk on the Wabashiki continues to support the Wabashiki with donations like the viewing scope at Dewy Point and sponsored field trips for children of the Wabash Valley. Course: The 10k and Turtle Trot will start and finish on Memorial Drive next to AMVETS Post 222 (The Teardrop). The 10k is a trail race through the Wabashiki Wetlands. The Turtle Trot will start on the connector path and make its way to the finish line on Memorial Drive. Emily\'s Walk will start at Dewey Point and make its way down the new connector path looping around the Teardrop and make its way back to Dewey Point.
