_ The 2021 Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Southern CT Inc. Walkathon/James Barber 5K Run:

The race benefits the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Southern Connecticut (SCDAA-SC).  In pursuit of systemic change, SCDAA-SC embraces prevention strategies to enhance the quality of life and well-being of individuals affected by sickle cell disease (SCD), the trait and related conditions and to provide individuals and families with critical education and access to support services through innovative partnerships and advocacy. Our vision is to enhance all aspects of the quality of life within the SCD community inclusive of finding a cure!

Participants may walk, run or bike on September 25, 2021 at East Rock Park!  The event takes place at College Woods in East Rock Park. 5K participants will run along the Mill River and around the bottom of East Rock before turning around and returning to the finish. The course is a nice shaded route, perfect for September!  We encourage you to wear your t-shirt while you walk, run or bike and share your photos on social media!
