This will be the 7th annual Balarat Trail Run. This year we teamed up with XTERRA and added a 21k for your enjoyment. The race is also part of the Trail Runner Magazine Trophy Series.

Course Info
The Trail Run is a 10k(6 mi.) or 20k(12 mi.) race that takes place at an elevation between 7,000 8,000 ft. The route is 80% on single-track trail and 20% on dirt roads. The course will circle Balarat property and provide scenic vistas of Longs Peak and the Indian Peaks. The trails will be rocky and steep with tough climbs and fast descents. Total elevation gain and loss for runners is approximately 1,200 for the 10k and 2,500 for the 21k. There will be aid stations.

<> I-25 North to US-36 (Boulder Turnpike)west bound towards Boulder; go 26.4 miles (US-36 becomes 28th in Boulder, continue through Boulder)
<> Approximately five miles past Boulder turn left at Hwy. 94/Left Hand Canyon (Greenbriar Inn on southwest corner of intersection) Hwy sign shows Ward/Jamestown Hwy on your right side
<> Stay to your RIGHT through the canyon. (8.3 miles from Greenbriar Inn to the Jamestown Mercantile on your right in Jamestown)
<> Go through Jamestown and one more mile before turning.
<> Turn right at Balarat Rd.1/County Rd. #87 (Street sign on left side says Balarat Rd./County Rd. 87) the Cal-wood sign is on your right, at the base of Balarat Hill. Continue up Balarat Rd. 1 mile to crest of hill, veer left going approximately 200 yards to Balarat Gate on right side of road signs. Additional sign and flagging will mark the road, starting at Balarat Road.
