_The 2022 Bakersfield Marathon:

The Bakersfield Marathon has permanently moved to the spring and will be held on March 27th, 2022.

A spring race brings health advantages as our fall race has suffered from air quality issues due to the ever-extending fire season throughout California. Also, training for a marathon through the winter months is much more amenable than training in the summer. We think the spring scheduling is a positive feature for the future of the event. 
 
Still want a fall event? Please Click here to join us at the 2nd Annual 2021 Virtual Bakersfield Marathon taking place November 12th through 14th -- the same weekend as our planned in-person race. We’ll be presenting a virtual 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon — plus one special challenge for our toughest competitors.
