_The 2021 Corporal Stephen M. McGowan 20K Challenge:

This 20K trek will be held on the track of Saint Mark's High School to raise funds for the Corporal Stephen M. McGowan Fund. This fund assists the children and grandchildren of veterans and active military who wish to attend Saint Mark's. Individual participants and teams of 2 or more people are welcome. 

School President and veteran Mr. Tom Fertal will be participating in the challenge. President Fertal will carry a 20lb pack throughout. Individual participants may choose to do so as well. Teams are asked to have a pack that may be shared amongst team members. Teams may participate en masse or in a relay manner.

It is important to note that this is not a race but a challenge. There are no awards for finish times. The true reward is creating opportunities for the children of veterans. A timing clock will be on display for pacing purposes. 

Individual participants are asked to secure a minimum of $200 is support. Members of teams are each asked to secure $200 in support. 

The event will be held rain or shine.

The event is open to the public - within the school stadium. Free refreshments will be available.
