_ The 2022 SwimRun Lake James:
 

SwimRun is a combination of teamwork, endurance and adventure.   It is a challenging event completed in teams of two.  SwimRun Lake James is located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina and offers rolling terrain with beautiful lake waters.  

The Long Course will consist of teams of 2 tackling about 4 miles of swimming and 15 miles of running. The course will have 14 run sections and 13 swim sections.   The swim sections range from 20 yards to 1300 yards in a unique and picturesque lake setting.  The run sections range from 25 meters to 7.5 miles.  The runs are made up of fire service trail roads, single track trails, paved roads, and off the beaten path wooded sections. All of which will be well marked.

The Short Course will consist of teams of 2 tackling about 2.7 miles of swimming and 10 miles of running. The course will have 8 run sections and 7 swim sections.   The swim sections range from 20 yards to 1300 yards in a unique and picturesque lake setting.  The run sections range from 25 meters to 5.5 miles.  The runs are made up of fire service trail roads, single track trails, paved roads, and off the beaten path wooded sections. All of which will be well marked.     

*New for 2022: We've added a Short Course SOLO Option! Solo athletes will traverse the same course as short course teams 

All athletes/teams will start and finish at the Fonta Flora Whippoorwill Farm.  This area has added a new overflow parking lot but please carpool if at all possible.  This facility includes a smaller indoor tasting room and restrooms (we will also have Port-O-Johns).   The Farm will host all race activities before, during, and after the event.  We will have several smaller tents setup around the property for additional shelter.  Stick around for food and yummy craft beer :)
