_ The 2022 Turkey Trot for a Cure 5K Walk/Run for Alzheimer's:

November is National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness month and for the past 11 years, we have kicked it off with a 5k walk/run to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer's in our community. 

The last couple years have been trying but one thing has not changed, our caregivers still need support and we need to continue to raise awareness of this terrible memory robbing disease. The annual Alzheimer's Association Facts & Figures for 2021 are astounding. Over 6 million people in the US have Alzheimer's disease; including 75,000 Kentuckians. The disease affects 1 in 9 older adults and it is the 6th leading cause of death in the US today for which there is no cure; about half of those who suffer from Alzheimer's disease never receive the diagnosis. On another note, there are millions of unpaid caregivers! Many reside in Morehead & Rowan County. We hope we can count on you to register to participate in person or on your own, and help raise funds and awareness.

We hope you can join us for a fun morning including a health fair, refreshments and door prizes!! For those who can't join us in person, we plan to make the virtual part of the race as fun and interactive as possible. During the "race week" leading up to the race date we will have contests through out the week. Contests will be judged based on online registrations, fundraising, and photo contest entries. Who will be the best "dressed like a Turkey" pet? Who will have the largest team? Which team will raise the most money? And, let's not forget TRIVIA:)  We can't wait to find out who our winners are!! Just like last year we will host a Facebook live event on race day to announce winners and recognize those we are participating in honor of.   

This year's race packets will include a commemorative shirt and race bib. We will host a packet pick up event prior to the race for those joining us in person. It is imperative that you register early to ensure you get a shirt. 

Registration fee: Early Bird (until October 14th), after October 14th, price increases by $5 per person.

Adults- $20.00, $25.00 after October 14th

Kids (Ages 4-12)- $10.00, $15.00 after October 14th.

Teams of 10 or more-$15.00 per person, $20.00 after October 14th.

All race proceeds will benefit the St. Claire Foundation's Alzheimer's and Dementia care fund.
