_ The 2022 Tell City Half Marathon & 5K Fun Run:

ARE YOU READY?

Tell City Half Marathon and 5k Fun Run
Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 8:00 a.m.

Location: Tell City, IN US 47586
Type: Run or Run/Walk In-Person Race/Challenge

The Tell City Half Marathon and 5k Fun run is set to return as an in-person race on its traditional second Saturday in April, April 9, 2022. This annual race is a moderate challenging race that is still growing in its fifth year! Runners can start the countdown beginning November, 6th at 9 a.m. CDT, and can register online at RunSignUp.com, or at everbodys.com.  "Our goal is to create a unique and fun event the whole family can participate in"  says race coordinator Russ Christensen.

The course routes for both races are still being finalized. The half marathon will have some minor route changes as we attempt to provide a flatter course. The race will start and end in front of the Perry County Convention and Visitor Bureau (The Depot), 333 7th Street.  However, a run in Tell City would not be the same without ascending Tell City's renowned Mozart Street hill (a one mile long,  200 foot climb, with minor grade breaks) along with rolling grades on county roads. The route will take you on the Windy Creek Greenway, along the  Ohio River on the River Greenway, on Main Street in the downtown area and on county, state and residential roads and streets. Plenty of hydration stations will be provided along the route.

Not ready for a half marathon, then join us for the 5k Fun Run. This route will begin and end in the same place as the half marathon. The 3.1 mile route is on residential streets within Tell City's beautiful downtown and along the Ohio River on the River Greenway.  This course has minor elevation changes.

All registrants receive a long-sleeved 1/4 zip unisex shirt (while they last) with all finishers receiving a participation medal! A DJ, free post-race massage, chip timing, post-race eats and lots of race fun will be provided.

Due to supply issues, commemorative long-sleeved shirts (men's/women's sized) are on a first come, first served basis. When you register, if your size is not available, you can either select another size or "no shirt option" to save $5.00.  We will have a SHIRT SWAP immediately following the race for anyone who either did not receive a shirt or got a size that they would like to trade with another participant.  If we have race no shows, their shirts will be available for swap following the race.

This is an event the entire family can complete! If you don't want to run or walk 13.1 miles (half marathon) you can walk/run a 5k (3.1 miles) distance.

The race routes are rather compact which makes it ideal for family and friends to move around for support. You can also participate by volunteering. It takes over 100 volunteers to make this event happen!

If you have never run a half marathon or you're looking to get back into running shape Everbody's Fun & Fitness Center sponsors a "Half Crazy" training group. Training for the Tell City Half will begin in January with a 14 week program that will build up your endurance to complete the 13.1 miles. Watch for details!

This year's race will adhere to local, state, and federal COVID-19 safety guidelines to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers, and spectators.  The race team will continue to closely monitor developments with COVID-19 and any changes deemed necessary to provide for a safe race will be shared in the months and weeks leading up to race day.

More details on the schedule of events for the race will be released in the coming weeks and months.

Dogs and strollers are welcome in both races!
