_ The 2022 Davis Stampede:
The Davis Stampede takes place each year in February, and includes 5K, 10K and Half Marathon routes. This year we have added a family friendly 2K (1.24 mile) fun run/walk division that is perfect for younger athletes, families, and pups. Starting and finishing at Davis’ Playfields Park, the Davis Stampede is a great way to kick off 2022 with a commitment to fitness. Courses are mostly flat and take runners and walkers through east and south Davis’s greenbelts and neighborhood streets. Race amenities include finisher’s medals, half marathon pace groups, t-shirts, a post-race expo, and course water stations stocked with water and electrolyte replacement along the course.
8:00 a.m. - Half Marathon
8:15 a.m. - 5K and 10K
9:00 a.m. - 2K Family Fun Run, Walk or Mutt Strut
Short sleeve dri-release polycotton t-shirt, finisher medal, chip timing, eligibility for division awards. Option to upgrade to a long sleeve technical (100% polyester) shirt for $7; must pre-order. Long sleeve upgrade available through February 13, 2022.
Note: Shirts for all races are guaranteed if registered by Wednesday, February 16th. After this date, shirts will be available first come first serve at packet pick up/race day.
You can pick up your packet (bib and shirt) on Saturday, February 19 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Playfields Park in Davis (race location). We allow you to pick up for friends, and ID is not required. All bibs will be organized in alphabetical order by last name (except for entries received after 9am on Friday 2/18, which will be available at Will Call). You can also pick up on race day starting at 6:30 a.m. If picking up on race day, we suggest arriving at least one hour prior to your race start (except for kids fun run entries, for whom we suggest arriving by 10am).
Safety pins will be available at registration. On race morning, please pin your race bib to the clothing on the FRONT of your body so that it is visible to timing officials, course monitors, and race photographers.
Those who are unable to attend on event day or who would prefer to participate on their own schedule may register as a virtual participant. Virtual packets will be mailed on 2/22/22 and will include a bib, 2K/5K/10K finisher medal, and t-shirt (if selected). Virtual participants are welcome to pick up their packets at the Saturday Packet Pick Up if preferred. The deadline to sign up as a Virtual Participant is Thursday, February 17th.
Overall Awards will be presented to the top three finishers per gender in the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon and to the overall finisher per gender in the 2K. Overall awards placement will be based on Gun Time. All age division awards will be determined based on placement by net (elapsed) time and awarded to the top three finishers per gender in each age group. Age groups are as follows:
Wheelchair entrants may participate in all divisions. Racing wheelchairs should start at the front and coordinate with event official; pushed or casual wheelchair entrants should start toward the back. In the Half Marathon, strollers and dogs are not permitted. Please note: half marathon has approximately 1/4 mile on crushed gravel by Barovetto Park plus about 1 mile on trail (service road around Wildhorse Golf Course). 5K or 10K entrants wishing to push a stroller MUST start at the back of the pack at the starting line, no exceptions. Dogs are permitted in the 2K division ONLY, for the safety of all athletes. In the 2K, strollers, dogs, wagons (for children or dogs) and wheelchairs are permitted. Those with dogs or strollers should line up behind the runners who are participating without a dog/stroller. Dogs must be on a nonretractable leash, well behaved in crowds and around other dogs, and owners must clean up after their pet.
In order to reduce the spread of disease, participants will be asked to wear a mask anywhere social distancing is not possible, while not actively running/walking or eating/drinking. This includes registration/packet pick up, the start area line-up, while volunteering at water stations, medal hand-out, etc, and in the post-race area while picking up awards, socializing with those outside ones household, vendor booths, etc. People who have symptoms of infection, including fever, congestion, cough, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. are asked to stay home. Because this even utilizes chip timing for all events, we remind participants that there is no need to crowd the start line when the race starts. All age group awards and results placements, except for the top overall finishers (i.e. first 3 per gender across the finish line), are determined by chip/net time.
Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable; event happens rain or shine. Read complete details here: http://changeofpace.com/event/davis-stampede-2/#Refund-Policy
