_ The 2022 Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k:
 

Come join us for the Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022 at 9:00am. The race is conveniently located next to Albemarle High School. The course will be held on local neighborhood Lambs Rd and Ivy Ridge Rd. It consists of flat stretches and mild rolling hills with a total elevation gain of 73 feet. The race will start on the front side of Albemarle High School and finish on the Albemarle High School track. Ample parking will be available at Albemarle High School, Jack Jouett Middle School and Greer Elementary.

2022 race registration opens 8/1/22 and is $35 before October 25 and goes up to $40 on October 25, then $50 on race morning. Registration includes a soft technical race t-shirt comfortable for running or wearing casually. Sign up by November 1 to guarantee a race shirt. Our race beneficiary is the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank which services the Central Virginia area and is an affiliate of the national food bank, Feeding America.

Sign up as a solo racer, or race as a team with up to 4 members. Create teams within your family, neighborhood, sports team or place of work and strive for the fastest cumulative team time...and bragging rights for the rest of the year!

PACKET PICKUP:
Tuesday, Nov. 22 and Wednesday, Nov. 23 (8:00am-6pm) at Move Better Physical Therapy, 285 Hydraulic Ridge Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22901 (across from Albemarle High School).

If you are racing the 5k Live, you will need to pick up your race number at Packet Pickup prior to race day since these will have timing strips on them. Sign up by Monday, November 1 (11:59pm), to guarantee a race t-shirt. Extras will be ordered, but will be given out first come first serve.

RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP Avoid race morning lines by picking up your packet on Tuesday or Wednesday 8am-6pm. If you need to pickup your race packet on race morning it will be open from 7:45am-8:45am at the race venue at Albemarle High School.

LATE REGISTRATION: Wed., Nov 24th 6pm thru Thursday, Nov. 25th 8:30am. Late registration price increases to $50. We recommend registering online before arriving at Packet Pickup to make your check-in faster.

VIRTUAL OPTION AVAILABLE!
Run your Turkey Trot 5k anywhere between 11/24/2021-11/27/2021 until 5:00pm.

5K LIVE INFO
Each of 3 wave time slots will be 3 minutes apart and allow for a rolling wave start. We encourage those running under 30 minutes to start in the 1st wave- 9:00am; those running 30-40 minutes in the 2nd wave-9:05am; and those running or walking in 40 minutes or more in the 3rd wave-9:10am. This provides the option to be physically distanced, or start at the same time with those you wish to run/walk with in your designated wave. (*If you have already registered, you do not need to do anything to change your corral. Just show up on race morning and choose which wave time suits you.)

MASK SAFETY
Participants must wear a face mask at the start of the race until you've moved on to the route.

Your race number must be pinned (in all four corners) to the outside layer of your front, so as to properly trigger your chip. If you have multiple members of your family running, please make sure that you each wear the correct number (your names will be on the back of each number).

We are excited to have chip timing, thanks to our friends at Blue Ridge Timing. Both overall and age group results will be provided. We will not post the results until the last finisher has completed the event. Age groups are as follows: 10 & younger, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.   

We will have porta-johns at the race start. Albemarle High School Track's bathrooms will also be open to the left of the track entrance.

Local Albemarle EMT medical services will be on site. We are grateful for their volunteer help and appreciate all those who will be helping to safely guide you throughout your race experience.
