_ The 2022 Swing the Gates at Deception Pass State Park:
 

Run or walk through Deception Pass State Park at our Swing the Gates Run! Explore the park in either our Competitive 5K (with chip timing), our 5K Family Fun Run, or a 10K scavenger hunt along the trails in the park.

5K Competition and Family Fun Run 
The 5K will have two different start times depending on if you want a competition race experience or a family fun run. Chip timing will be available for the Competition Run. The 5K competition run starts at 9:00 A.M. and the Family Fun Run starts at 10:00 A.M. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids 5-17. Children 4 and under run for free. The 5K will primarily be run on paved surfaces. Strollers, small children, and dogs are welcome for the Family Fun Run. This race is cupless so make sure to bring your own drinking container.

10K Team Scavenger Hunt 
For someone looking for a unique race experience, there will be a team 10K Scavenger Hunt (race distance may vary based on your team's efficiency in solving clues) run along the trails in the park! Scavenger hunts are more fun as a team, so find up to three other friends or family to join you. The 10K Scavenger Hunt will start at 9:15 A.M. Tickets are $25 per teammate. Each member of the winning team will receive a Deception Pass State Park hoodie in the size of their choice! The 10K Scavenger Hunt will be run primarily on unpaved trails within the park. Water is not provided on the course, so make sure to bring your own.

Late Registration (March 7 - March 25)
5K Competition or Family Fun Run (Youth 5-17 years): $18 (children 4 and under run free, but do not get a medal)

Note: a Discover Pass is required to park in the lot for the race.

8:00 AM: Packet pickup 
9:00 AM: 5K Competition Run starts 
9:15 AM: 10K Team Scavenger Hunt starts 
10:00 AM: 5K Family Fun Run starts 
 
All finishers of the Competitive 5K and 10K Scavenger hunt ages 5 and up receive a wooden commemorative medal. The top three finishers of each race category in the Competitive 5K will win a special prize!

A long sleeve Swing the Gates Run tech shirts is available for sale. Race shirt sign ups end March 6, 2022. There will be a limited number of sized available for purchase at the event.

A Discover Pass is required to park a vehicle in the park for the race.

There will be no registration on the day of the event.
