_ The 38th Annual Causeway Run & Fitness Walk:

Scheduled for the 9th of April, 2022, the 38th Annual promises to be even bigger and better. This year's event will also follow the 6.2 mile (10K) course starting at the Port Isabel Community Center, continuing on to the Queen Isabella Causeway and over the Laguna Madre Bay and ending in front of Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. Awards ceremonies and snacks will be held immediately following the race/walk at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island.

Event details and schedule

START: Causeway Run starts at 7:00 a.m. sharp at the Port Isabel Community
Center. Fitness Walk starts at the Community Center at 7:15 a.m.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: $35 (10k Run); $30 (5K Walk); Students & Military
with ID $20 (10K Run or 5K Walk) before March 8, 2022. Online registration
or mail to: Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce, 421 E. Queen Isabella Blvd.,
Port Isabel, TX 78578.

LATE REGISTRATION FEES: After March 8, 2022, $40 (10K Run); $35 (5K Walk);
$25 Students & Military with ID (10K Run or 5K Walk). Late registration can
be processed at the Chamber office  April 4-7, 2022, Monday – Thursday
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or online until April 7, at 10:00 p.m. The Chamber office will be closed Friday, April 8 to prepare for late registration.

ON-SITE LATE REGISTRATION: Port Isabel Community Center, 213 Yturria St., Port Isabel, Friday, April 8th from 4 – 7 p.m. or Saturday, April 9th from 5:30 – 6:30 a.m. $40 (10K Run); $35 (5K Walk); $25 Students & Military with ID (10k Run or 5K Walk).

T-SHIRT AND WALKER WRISTBAND PICK UP: Participants may check in at the Port Isabel Chamber office Mon.-Thurs. the week of the event from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to pick up their T-shirts and walker wristbands. RUNNERS DISPOSABLE TIMING CHIPS AND BIBS WILL ONLY BE HANDED OUT AT LATE REGISTRATION FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER. T-SHIRTS ARE GUARANTEED TO THE FIRST 1,500 PARTICIPANTS TO CHECK IN. SIZES CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.

RACE COURSE: 10K (6.2 mi.) Starts at the Port Isabel Community Center and ends at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. One major incline. Water stations at locations along course and at the finish line. Police and EMS protection is provided. The run is USA Track and Field certified: Certification #TX15006WG. (See map on reverse)

FITNESS WALK COURSE: 3 miles. This course starts at the Port Isabel Community Center and ends at the Padre Balli statue on South Padre Island. Shuttle service will be available to Louie’s Backyard to the runners’ awards ceremonies or back to Port Isabel. THIS IS NOT A RACE. IT IS A PARTICIPATION WALK.

SHUTTLE SERVICE: Shuttle service will not be available.

ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RUN OR WALK!

AWARDS & PRESENTATIONS:  Medals will be given to the overall 1st through 3rd male and female winners as well as 1st through 3rdplace winner in each male and female age division of the 10K. Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions. ALL PARTICIPANTS CROSSING THE FINISH LINES WILL RECEIVE FINISHER MEDALS.
