2022 Tyler 'Smitty' Smith 5K...

_ The 2022 Tyler 'Smitty' Smith 5K:

This event is a memorial run/walk for Tyler (Smitty) Smith who tragically passed on 9/15/18. Tyler loved competing in races so we are hosting this event to keep Tyler's memory alive and to give back to a community that meant so much to him.

All proceeds will go to the Tyler Smith Memorial Foundation which will fund local high school scholarships and other local charities including police and/or military organizations. 

Fee is $40 and includes race t-shirt and Lunch from Hicks BBQ held at Rochelle VFW from 11am to 3pm.  We will have some raffles and a 50/50 as well.  Don't miss out on this great time to remember Tyler!  More info about this can be found on our Facebook Page Tyler(Smitty) Smith 5K.  

Entries after September 1st are $25 and include the 5k run/walk and lunch only!!

This is a "no frills" 5K.  Event will be timed but no awards will be given for times.   Race packets can be picked up at Cooper Park Shelter by Kids Ground beginning at 7:30 am.  Race starts at 9am and will be at Atwood Park which is across from Cooper Park.   This event will go on rain or shine. Also in light of the recent events with social distancing this race could turn into a virtual 5k and if it does we will still have the shirt and lunch available for pick up.    We will keep everyone posted if that does occur.  In the event of a cancellation of the event due to conditions beyond our control, we thank you for your donation. 

We will accept sign ups through the day of the event but shirts are not guaranteed after September 1st. Strollers are welcome. Due to insurance purposes,  please leave your canine friends at home.  Walk in sign ups can be done at the Rochelle Park District Rec Center Office at 802 Jones Rd in Rochelle.
